We actually scoped out a cute new cupcake shop in town...

White Out

It's snowing here in Springfield. Like, a lot.
Perfect time to make some tea and finish packing up boxes. :) xo

My little monster LOVES the snow.

Beginnings

Oh, blogging.
I said I never would, but I suppose the time has come.

I know quite a few people who maintain very beautiful blogs, and they definitely seem to require lots and lots of work.
I always thought that if I started a blog, it would be after I had started my own business or Etsy site, and needed
the networking, AND (the more pressing matter), had much more time to devote to it.
At the moment I am taking 15 hours of classes, and trying my best to master AUTOCAD, which is no small feat.

But, I figured that for now it would just be nice to have a place to share inspiring images and thoughts I run across
on a weekly basis. So, here goes.

Lately I've had architecture on the brain.
I know I'm silly, but I've always had such a fascination with Russian architecture. Onion domes are SO magical, and I always find myself leaning towards the whimsical side of things when it comes to my own design.

I just love tipis, don't you? :) Especially mini ones that are made with vintage fabrics. Great idea for a kid's room.

I'm addicted to vinyl. It's so incredibly practical, and it is SO easy to apply and remove. (Really good if you are renting, as it doesn't damage the paint). VINYL FRUIT has a great Etsy shop with a lot of really cute vinyl.

Ok, first of all, that tree! I die. :) But what I really like about this room is the cluster of picture frames. I LOVE this idea and could see it working with any style of room. I love to cluster my Ashley G and Black Apple prints.

Forest animals. I'm obsessed. It's sick. Thrift stores are great places to find little ceramic owls and fawns, and I think this is such a cute display of a collection.

I really strive to make designs that are innovative and functional. I love the use of space in this one. Hidden compartments and spaces add interest, and create more floor space.

And lastly, studio and office spaces. I have to have a studio that is entirely my own, and I think it's very important to surround yourself with beautiful things that inspire you creatively. (Love that Ashley G btw) I like to keep some of Mark Ryden and Jim Houser's things in my work space.
