Bliss+Gelato+Window Seats

Oh hai, Harry Potter scar. Ha!

F-A-L-L B-R-E-A-K IS HERE!!!!
Gots a list of Autumnal activities to accomplish. :)
Oh, and Jackass 3D, of course. I'm a classy lady.

I've been researching the heck out of "Green" products, and Eco-Friendly building techniques.
There are SO many cool things out there.
I'm remodeling a barn for my professor's sister, and turning it into a vacation home/b&b.
The entire design is going to be eco-friendly. From the siding, to the paint, to the insulation, to the textiles.
Should be an interesting challenge. :)
I'll have to blog some photos of what I'm using later.

I think I'm going to make the interior spaces super super modern, but I want to make sure that it still feels warm.
These are a few things that I'm thinking about utilizing...

I've had a serious obsession with these Dioscuri table lamps...for like 2 years.
There's also a cordless version for outdoor use, and it looks INCREDIBLE.

The Dodu bed is super fun, and functional, and I'm thinking of using it, or something close to it, for the guest bedroom.

This Frank Gehry collection is to die for.
His designs are always so sculptural and bold.
Might be a little too minimalist for my purposes, but I love it all the same.

For sure. For sure. These are my dining room chairs.. :)

I want at least one of these in the loft.
I think they're too fun.
They feel a little Flaming Lips to me, maybe that's why... ha.

This desk is madness, but I thought I'd post it anyway.
I like it, but I have an inexplicable urge to try and bite it, because it looks sorta rubbery from the photo.

And lastly, a pretty cute storage system. I like the open parts, and you can choose the color combos.

Also, there is a hay swing in the loft of the barn, and I'm going to make the sides and top of it shatterproof glass, and create a built-in ladder system up to it, and use it as a sort of window seat. Maybe I've lost my mind. :)

Have a good fall break,

Loves, Mae

Lots to do. Want to get gelato with the man later. :)
I'm addicted.

Hello Hello, Autumn

Went pumpkin patching the other day with Miss Jones.
Oh, and there were ponies. I was in heaven.
Fall break is this week! I've been working on secret projects this weekend. When bf comes over, I put them in my super secret bathroom closet, ha! Sorta nice to redirect my creative brain with something fun, rather than AutoCad plans and deadlines. FML. And, in lieu of this pretty pretty season, I thought I'd make a playlist to listen to while I work. :)

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

Fort Christmas!

I've been meaning to blog about this for about a while now, and have finally remembered to do it. :)

Mr. Jeremy Larson has been creating a side project "band" called "Fort Christmas" and his ep, "Feathers" will be released two weeks from tomorrow. (Oct 19)
I for one am thrilled to have something to tide me over until his new album's release in the spring. For any of you that haven't heard Jeremy's beautiful music, I would recommend reading his blog, (linked above) to read the full story about "Fort Christmas" and explore his other albums. I promise it'll be worth your time. Jeremy is a truly talented musician, and is a great example of someone who devotes their entire life to their art. The first song I ever heard by Jeremy was "Make Believe." (It's a gem, you should check it out) And I can honestly say that one of his shows ranks in my top 3 favorite concerts of all time. No lie. :) I think he got me with the cover of "Harvest Moon."

Here's a live version of "Make Believe"...

& the original version....

& Here's the first track from the ep :)

Still working on my Tank Girl garb. :)
Complete with pink hand grenades.
It's gonna be pretty rad.

Maybe I can bribe the boy with cookies and he'll watch this one finally? ;)

Been marathoning my favorite show of all time (don't laugh) whilst working away on secret projects. :)

WANT THIS DRESS.

Love this.

Ha! And this.

Hope your weekend was pretty and fun!

A Half Remembered Dream

I want to turn my brain off.
Today, it seems, I feel as though I am waiting on a train.

[What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient... highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere.]

Let's hope the day gets better, yes? :)

5 Things:

That melt my heart this week.

First, my crafty friend Kiley just opened her new Etsy shop...
KnittyGrittyGarb
Opening an Etsy shop is super hard work, and LOTS of time invested.
I don't know about you, but I die for pretty knits, and these headbands are adorb. :)
(I'm particularly fond of the green one)

Darling, right?

2.) The cutest little boy I have ever laid eyes on. GAH.

3.) One of my favorite illustrations from The Black Apple.

4.) Lovely collections of colorful books and pretty dishes.

5.) And lastly, some food for thought.
