Hello :)
Here are 5 things that I'm inspired by this week:
Concept shoots of astronauts, space people...
I've been sort of fixated on space lately.
Good writing still exists.
I love you, David Bazan.
Miss James of Bleubird Vintage
She's a badass mama. I hope to be that cool someday.
AND, some pretty Houser inspired paints by Miss K.
Hope you are having an inspiring week!
Love, M

All Good Things
This week I FINALLY purchased some of this wonderful man's work...
I'm SO SO excited about owning something of his.
Jim Houser is my biggest inspiration as a creative individual.
His work is incredibly layered and intimate.
BABEL is one of my favorite art books, and I cry every time I read his letter at the end.
Jim and Rebecca's marriage was and is the most hopeful example of a "happy marriage," and a beautiful exchange of creativity that I have yet to encounter. I can only hope to achieve that one day.
These boys are coming to Columbia, MO in July.
It will be a great show.
AND, after HOUSE and CASTLE ending for the season,
as well as exhausting every episode of Breaking Bad,
the boy has finally agreed to "try" to watch my all-time favorite show.
Don't laugh, the writing is great, and I love it.
This week is gonna be pretty busy, but I'm thinking I'm gonna try to tackle a DIY that I've had my mind set on for a while now. (A looooovely tipi made from vintage fabrics.)
Love, Mae

This summer I am going to:
1.) Get two more tattoos!
2.) Go Veg (with the exception of sushi) <3
3.) Research Internships like crazy
4.) Art Journal
5.) Take a history class
6.) Run. All the time.
7.) AND change my hair. Again. lol
It's pretty funny that all of my IDs have a different hair color.
Ohgeez.

Top 5 Albums
The very first Death Cab song I ever heard was from the album "Plans."
A lot of people consider that album to be their favorite,
and it is certainly a masterpiece.
For me, I feel that "Plans" is like a series of hellos,
whereas Trans is like a series of goodbyes.
There's a certain melancholy that makes this album just a little richer.
All of the tracks are attached to certain memories for me;
a documented account of where I was in life at the time.
I love it with all my heart.
Yoshimi doesn't hold the same nostalgic quality for me,
but it is my go-to album for inspiration.
Whenever I'm sketching or designing I tend to put this one in the record player.
I think it's my favorite concept album.
I've already blogged about this one.
For Emma is so incredibly lovely. The first time I listened to it,
I had one of those moments where you go:
"Yes! That's exactly how this feels!"
It took me some time to "grow into" liking Wilco.
UNTIL, a couple of years ago, when I discovered "Sky Blue Sky."
"You Are My Face" has such a killer KILLER lead guitar.
It was love from then on.
The vast majority of people will claim
"Our Endless Numbered Days" as the greatest.
And, for the most part, I have to agree.
But there's something about this one
that feels more intimate and hushed.
