They Reappear
It's almost here! :)
Jeremy Larson is doing a special album release show at the Gilloiz theatre in Springfield on the 12th of March. If you live around here, I would highly recommend it. His shows tend to be pretty magical.

Spring Productivity
Oh hey there. :)
For the past couple days I've been organizing like crazy.
The weather's been so so nice here, so I've tried to spend a few lazy days reading in the grass. But for the most part, I have gotten a whole lot done.
I organized ALL of my art supplies. Finally have all of my acrylic in one place! I also tackled a closet of mine that has gotten WAY out of hand lol I can see the floor again! Ha. Major cleaning frenzy. Spring does this to me.
Ran across this today, and I can't even explain why I love it so much. It's pretty simple. But wherever this place is, is exactly where I'd like to be. The light is so lovely. Makes me feel wistful.
It reminds me of my favorite word in the entire world. Which happens to be Portuguese. Because sometimes the English language falls short.
The word is saudade, and it's sort of hard to explain, as it has quite a few different meanings. But my favorite definition is: "vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist." Or, if applicable to a person, "The love that remains" after someone is lost. The closest word we have in English is "nostalgia," but it just doesn't do it justice.
Hope your week is pretty and fun!
Love.

Beauty & Awe
“Inside these sealed glass balls live shrimp, algae, and bacteria, all swimming around in filtered seawater. Put it somewhere with some light, and this little ecosystem will chug along happily for years, no feeding or cleaning necessary, totally oblivious to the fact that the rest of the world exists outside.”
A library in the Netherlands.
Reed Flute Cave. Located in Guilin, China, this cave is a gorgeous tourist attraction.
Check out the reflection in the crystal clear water!
Tsunami Waves in Antarctica caused by earthquakes
Beethoven’s manuscript for his Violin and Piano Sonata, op. 96 in G major, purchased by Pierpont Morgan in 1907. This one makes me smile.

5 Things I Don't Like This Week
One of my least favorite life experiences. Crying off your mascara. Ugh.
Having an "I told you so moment." Disillusionment. The moment you realize that nothing has changed.
These beautiful creatures are incredibly endangered. There are only around 2,000 left in the entire world.
Not being able to write how you feel. Over-editing. UGH.
The world without Alexander McQueen. I'm still sad about it.

The Boys
..Are finally coming to town.
Or Kansas City, to be more specific.
I almost fell out of my chair when I read it. Queens is doing a small North American tour from now into the spring. They'll be playing their first LP, in its entirety. I have been waiting so so long for them to come anywhere near Missouri. I can't wait to see Josh Homme's antics in person. Ha. Love that man.
And he makes beautiful babies? Good lord.
Tour dates are posted on their FB page, and pre-sale starts on Thursday.

"The trouble is, you think you have time."
There are no words to describe how much I missed meditation class last Tuesday. I've sort of come to rely on my little zen session during the week, and I felt pretty frazzled without it. I wish we could just bring sleeping bags and camp out. Ha. The energy is so incredible.
I'm currently exploring two different kinds of meditation. My group meditation class focuses on "Bare Attention" meditation, and during personal meditation I do mantra. "Bare Attention" is a Zen Buddhist teaching, that stresses "Living in the present moment." Easier said than done. During meditation we focus on our breathing, clear our mind, and acknowledge any thoughts without pursuing them. Mantra meditation is similar in every way, except you use a "mantra" or a holy phrase to focus your mind and center yourself. This comes from the Indian Siddha Yoga teachings.
Loooooooooong day.
Can't come soon enough.

Alone
Well, alone with Nutella anyway. Good lord. The amount of it that resides in my cupboard is obnoxious.
WTF. Nutella to go? GET IN MY LIFE.
Debating between horror movie marathon, or this beautiful film.
Oh it has been toooooooo long.
But I do love senseless gore.. so we'll see. Ha.
Sick of the snow yet? ;)

It's snowing snowing snowing in Springfield today. :)
It started last night with a thundersleet... yes... yes I do enjoy using that term. Ha

Here are five things that have inspired me lately...
Heart skipped a beat.
Smitten with these unicorn rings.

The perfect breakfast.
